Towering over 4,000 feet above Santa Barbara are the picturesque Santa Ynez Mountains. This unique, transverse range offers stunning 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, Lake Cachuma and adjacent Sierra Madre Mountains. We will wind our way up the mountain and along portions of the Old Stagecoach route. Then, we will enjoy some beautiful backroads tucked under a canopy of trees to a special, off-road Jeep trail.  Stops along the way include “Painted Cave” for a peek at some mysterious, ancient Chumash paintings… “Lizard’s Mouth” for a short hike/walk through a maze of sandstone boulders to an incredible, birds-eye view of the coast and…  “Cold Spring Tavern” to learn about the colorful history of this historic landmark which today has become a popular gathering place. This cozy tavern not only serves interesting fare, it comes alive on the weekends with live music to accompany its famous tri-tip sandwiches.
